Bindjareb Art Award exhibited in the Alcoa Mandurah Art Gallery is a showcase of culturally significant visual artworks by invited contemporary Nyungar artists that reflect the world’s oldest living culture. This award is to recognize the contribution made by Indigenous artists and to promote appreciation and understanding of the rich indigenous culture of South West of Australia.
This award has been made possible by the partnership between the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre and the City of Mandurah.
The Binjareb Art Award has been presented through the Act Belong Commit First Catch program with funding support from Healthway. The Act Belong Commit Message is “being active, having a sense of belonging, and having a purpose in life, all contribute to happiness and good mental health and well being.’
This is a $10,000.00 acquisitive award that will contribute to the growing City of Mandurah Nyungar Art Collection, this collection defines our experiences and provides inspiration for people to share, nurture, educate and enjoy arts and culture that enriches the lives of all who visit and live within our community.
