Since the Impressionists first stepped outside with their easels, painting outdoors has captivated artists and audiences alike – the creative process happening live, in the open air, for anyone to witness.

Plein Air Down Under celebrates this tradition, bringing together over 200 artists to paint the waterways, estuary, coastline and heritage streetscapes of Mandurah and the Peel Region.

Watch artists at work, see the landscape through their eyes, and discover the Peel Region’s most beautiful locations through art.  With featured artist demonstrations, workshops, awards, prizes and two exceptional exhibitions, there is something for everyone.

When not out painting, artists and visitors gather at the festival hub, the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, for demonstrations, live music and the full festival experience.
