We recently celebrated the incredible work of local photographer Jayden Meakins and his debut photography exhibition, Voices of the Wild, at Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.
Jayden’s passion for native wildlife shines through his incredible close-up photography, captured over more than a year.
A dedicated volunteer at Naragebup Environmental Centre, Jayden is passionate about educating the community and challenging myths around our wildlife. His mission is to inspire people to appreciate, protect and peacefully coexist with creatures great and small.
A special thank you to Philip, Jayden’s dedicated support worker, for the important role he has played throughout this journey and to Sprout Space the organisation who works with Jayden to allow him to realise his ambitions.
It was great to see local Councillor Daniel Wilkins down at the celebration event, and we acknowledge the support he gives the local, grassroots arts scene in Mandurah.
A heartfelt thank you to Community Bank Halls Head who supports our Mez Arts Space and allows opportunities like this to be possible for people across our community.
The afternoon was made even more special with wonderful community connections, great food and cookies featuring Jayden’s own wildlife photography! 🍪
Voices of the Wild is open until September 4 at Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, Monday–Friday, 10am–5pm.
We encourage everyone to visit, celebrate Jayden’s achievement and experience our incredible wildlife through his unique lens. 💚
