Since the time of the Impressionists, artists have appreciated and recognised the benefits and beauty of painting outdoors.  It is an immersive experience for every painter.

Plein Air Down Under celebrates this enduring tradition with a range of activities, including Featured Artists, outdoor painting experiences, workshops, demonstrations, awards, prizes and two exceptional art exhibitions.

Visitors to the festival can watch as over 200 artists capture the landscapes of Mandurah’s town centre, cultural precinct, and the historic town of Pinjarra, each in their own unique styles.

When not involved in outdoor painting activities, artists and visitors can gather at the festival’s central hub, the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre.  Here you can enjoy art demonstrations, live music and a variety of festival activities.
