A Day For Mandurah Musicians ADD TO FAVOURITES

Resonance is an all-day music event for local musicians of all levels and ages, learn from Industry professionals, network and hear the stories behind the songs of local songwriters.

Hosted by Chop Street Music and John Butler Studio attendees will get the opportunity to take part in workshops (including a song-writing masterclass, hear from industry speakers and network with like-minded musicians. Pick up some great new tunes at the Junction Records pop-up vinyl shop (open to the public all day) and enjoy some local music at the lunchtime Open Mic performances.

The event will be rounded out with a ‘Songwriters Circle’ performance, where songwriters will take the audience on the creative journey of how their songs came to be!

PLUS All attendees will have the opportunity to enter our free prize draw to win $300 of gift vouchers from Mega Music.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Sounds of ManPAC Workshop – 11am – 1pm – REGISTER HERE (Free Event)

Together we’ll record the sounds of the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, and work towards making something – a song, track, sound sculpture or installation – using the different sounds we’ve collected. 

Song Writing Masterclass (18+) – 11am – 1pmREGISTER HERE (Free Event) VERY LIMITED SPACE LEFT

This masterclass is suited to songwriters at every level who want to learn about telling a story through your songs, finding inspiration, working through creative blocks and finding impactful melodies. Special Guest – Little Lord Street Band Duo

Mandurah Youth Open Mic – 1 – 3pm – Open to the Public (Free Event)

Enjoy live open mic sets from some of Mandurah’s talented youth.

Music Industry Guest Speakers – 2 – 4pm – REGISTER HERE (Free Event)

Hear from some of WA’s industry leaders and get a chance to ask them questions about how you can progress your music career.

Fairbridge Quest Song Writing Workshop for Youth – 2 – 4pmREGISTER HERE (Free Event)

Want to write original songs but don’t know where to start? Our song writing workshops with talented songwriter Helen Townsend are designed for young musicians (including singers) aged 12 to 18 years old. If you play an instrument, please bring it along!

Sounds of ManPAC installation 3 – 4.30pm – Open to the Public (Free Event)

This intimate evening of music will shine the light on the art of songwriting, as musicians perform their songs and tell stories about their creative journey. Audiences will get the opportunity to hear the wholesome stories that inspired the songs and why being able to express yourself through songwriting and music is important to the artists.

Vinyl Cafe is coming to Mandurah for a one day pop up shop! Browse through their epic collection of local, national, international and classic records.

IPL Radio – 11am – 4pmOpen to the Public (Free)
Rockingham Community Radio station IPL Radio will be on hand to discuss the role that community radio can play in the promotion of emerging musicians.
