WA Women’s Hall of Fame Exhibition 2022
ALCOA MANDURAH ART GLLERYAn exhibition of photographic portraits. The WA Women’s Hall of Fame was first established in 2011 in recognition of the Centenary of International Women’s Day, held on 8 March.
International Women’s Day is celebrated around the world, and dates to 1909, when it was first observed in the USA. On March 8, 1911, it was celebrated for the first time in Europe, by over a million women and men attending rallies. It has been celebrated annually since.
The purpose of the Hall of Fame is to acknowledge and celebrate the significant contributions and achievements, that women have made to Western Australia, and how they have helped to build this great State. The WA Women’s Hall of Fame is a record of the incredible diversity of the lives of women around our State. It celebrates the social; economic, historical, scientific, cultural, and political achievements of women, reflecting on how far we have come, and how far we still must go to realise gender equality.
We are delighted to introduce you to the 2022 WA Women’s Hall of Fame Inductees. We hope you enjoy this exhibition and join with us as we celebrate our ‘inspiring’ Western Australian women.
