Franklyn’s Terrible Wonderful Day Book Launch
We were thrilled recently, to officially launch our children’s book; Frankly’s Wonderful, Terrible Day. An amazing community project that brought together Mandurah writer Sandie Bentley and a group of emerging illustrators to create a brand new children’s book. Enjoy some photos from the launch below and you can also watch the ‘Making of the Book’ video, courtesy of Kero O’Shea.
This gorgeous book tells the tale of Franklyn, the little lion cub, who awakes from a bad dream and looks for a friend to comfort him. A tale that tells of the importance of sharing problems, building friendships and knowing who to trust.
Thank you to author Sandie Bentley, lead artist Samantha Hughes, supporting artist Kero O’Shea and our young illustrators:

We’re also incredibly grateful to our supporters without whom, this project wouldn’t have been possible; The John and Bella Perry Foundation, Community Bank Halls Head and David Templeman and Carole Dhu. Not forgetting ManPAC’s Community Engagement Coordinator Mark Labrow whose passion and drive helped bring this project to fruition. Thank you to LiveLighter for the healthy snacks at our launch night too.
All proceeds from book sales go to PYMS, a local charity that supports the health and wellbeing of young people in the Peel Region.
