Hugged By Nature: Wildlife Photography Opens at ManPAC

On Thursday 21st March, the Mezzanine Arts Space at Mandurah Performing Arts Centre opened its latest exhibition, Hugged by Nature—a stunning showcase of local wildlife photography by Jesse Steele.

The evening was a fantastic success, with a wonderful turnout of fellow artists, photographers, wildlife enthusiasts, and local MPs. We were also pleased to welcome representatives from Bendigo Bank, proud supporters of the Mezzanine Arts Space.

Jesse spoke passionately about her connection to the natural world and the conservation efforts that inspire her work. After 12 years of patient observation, her portraits capture the essence of local creatures—from the graceful Osprey to the playful Pelican and the dolphins that dance through our estuary.

Several of Jesse’s prints sold on the night, with 100% of proceeds supporting her dedicated wildlife charity. It was a moving reminder of how art can inspire action and deepen our connection to the environment.

Hugged by Nature is open Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm in the Mezzanine Arts Space until Friday 31st May 2025. Don’t miss your chance to experience this beautiful celebration of our local wildlife.
