A Soulful Start to 2026 Morning Concerts
Our 2026 Morning Concert series kicked off in style this week, with our theatre halls once again filled with familiar faces and a wonderful sense of community. We were delighted to welcome Movin’ Melvin Brown for the first morning concert of the year, presenting Sweet Soul Music – The Sam Cooke Story.
Taking audiences on a journey through the life and career of Sam Cooke, Melvin delivered a spirited and smooth performance, blending soulful vocals, tap dance, storytelling and comedy. Backed by an exceptional live band, classics such as You Send Me, A Change Is Gonna Come and Twistin’ the Night Away had the audience smiling, clapping and completely swept up in the joy of the show. A true crowd favourite, Melvin’s infectious energy and giggle lit up the stage.
We loved having Melvin in Mandurah and are excited to see him continue his WA tour this weekend, including appearances at the Perth Fringe Festival.
Our full 2026 Morning Concert program is now on sale and already booking fast, and we can’t wait to welcome audiences back for more mornings filled with music, connection and community.
